The latest Goodman Bentley underdoor viewer called SCORPION UDV named because of its dual strike capability, has been designed to obtain live video and audio from within a confined space by the insertion of a 3.05mm blade thickness under most doors.
This latest micro quartz image fibre bundle technology is built at a diameter of 1.9mm and assembled within an underdoor penetration plate of 3.05mm blade, making it the thinnest UDV in the world to provide the very best possible images available to commanders preparing risk assessments in hostage siege or firearms operations.
Operating alongside the highly sensitive and operationally proven Knowles FG series of microphone with the lowest noise, and its high Omni-directional characteristics. Built within a self-contained and highly portable format which reports to a high resolution monochrome camera and TFT LCD monitor DVR recorder combination providing a clear image on the 5” removable screen from the main UDV body when needed for reviewing purposes.
This combined innovation presents the only truly effective solution to this dangerous area of operations. The monitor DVR recorder for the first time incorporates a memory card to record the operation as it develops for evidential purposes with date and time stamp.
The SCORPION UDV Under door viewer is an integral part of any Rapid Intervention Team or SWAT unit, and provides that vital intelligence of numbers of persons that are secreted within a given area, and provides the intelligence on weapons being used, and layout of a stronghold, before rapid entry is made or considered.
The unit is made from commercial plastic and an aircraft aluminium blade, and presented in matt black with its own supporting handle, and on board rechargeable battery supply, providing up to 5 hours of continuous use in operational conditions, unless a multitude of commands and functions are used. The DVR houses the on board rechargeable battery on the rear for the complete equipment.
